How to Save Money on Your Chilis Menu Prices
Chilis are a relatively new dish on the scene, having become popular in the 1970s and started out as a counter-service of sorts for San Francisco nightclubs and dive bars. Chilis usually consist of three items: two kinds of fresh salsa, and one type of prepared nacho (roasted or baked corn tortilla) with the main ingredient being cheese. It is a fairly straightforward dish to make. Most restaurants will offer the basics: a fresher tasting salsa, a nice dip, and perhaps some black beans. If you go into a typical Latin club, you would more than likely find three kinds of Chilis on the bar: One kind that has a milder, gentler flavor; one that is spicy; and one that is more of a kick. It is rare that you will find a Chilis that is prepared with an entirely different spice combination.
Chilis have been growing in popularity over the past few years, and it is easy to see why. They are fast, easy to make, and extremely tasty. One of the reasons they are enjoying such a surge in popularity is because of the fact that they are so cheap compared to their original prices. For example, if you were to make a traditional chili at your local restaurant, you would most likely be looking at a hefty price tag, of around $8 for a medium size bowl. On the other hand, unless you go to a catering establishment where they already have your favorite ingredients, and are making your favorite chili, then you are looking at significantly less money.
The best part about Chilis is that they are so versatile. For example, you can make a chilis full meal, or you can just serve it as a side dish. You can even make a quick and easy breakfast if you are looking to save time. If you go to a restaurant that only offers Mexican food items on their menus, then you might want to consider making a full meal. Most often, people will choose to have a full meal so that they do not need to stop by the nearby drive through to grab something to go.
Chilis are often served with either fresh, spicy salsa, or delicious chicken crispers. Typically, the salsa is mild and the chicken is seasoned well. The beauty about these two foods is that they go well with both mild and hot chilies. If you like a milder taste, then perhaps you will enjoy making your own chicken Crisps. There are many recipes online for chicken Crisps, which are actually quite easy to make.
Gluten Containing Foods: More restaurants are starting to offer items that are strictly vegetarian or vegan. Gluten free and gluten containing foods are quickly becoming very popular, and they are showing no signs of slowing down. One of the best examples of a quick and easy meal that is both healthy, and great for the body, is a grilled chicken recipe. Gluten containing and non-gluten containing chicken recipes are fast becoming popular and are offered at many restaurant chains. Chilis are not the only option; fish, burgers, and pork chops are all offered in many of the same places.
Happy Hours & Specials: Many restaurants will offer happy hours and specials to their customers at various times of the day. If you are lucky enough to work at a restaurant that has a happy hour, you may be able to save some money on your meal. Many restaurants offer special deals during happy hours for those who are on a budget. You should take advantage of any specials or happy hours that are offered.
Fried Pickles: Fried pickles are probably one of the easiest food items on the menu prices. They can be served any time, and they are inexpensive. Fried pickles are typically made with potatoes, onions, salt, and garlic. Although fried pickles are traditionally served during lunch, you may find that they go over well after lunch as well. You could even make them a part of your regular lunch menu.
Tacos: Tacos are not technically considered food, but a topping that can be added to a burger or taco plate. There are a wide range of taco choices, and almost every Mexican food chain has at least a few versions. In my opinion, the best tacos are made with fresh corn tortillas, and they can be served with black beans, salsa, and guacamole. A lot of the better taco chains have made their own version of the burrito. It is usually made with refried beans, cheese, and sour cream, and can be served with chips and salsa.
