Surprisingly easy recipe
150 ml Water, 5 g Dry yeast, 10 g Cane sugar
Put lukewarm water, dry yeast and cane sugar in a large bowl and stir.
Add flour and vegan protein and mix together. Transfer the dough to a floured surface. Add salt and knead with your hands for approx. 7 minutes to form a smooth dough.
Shape the dough into a ball, return to the bowl and cover with a kitchen towel. Let rest for 1 hour so that the dough rises.
Divide the dough into 6 small balls and let rest covered for another 20 minutes.
Dust the work surface with flour and roll out the dough ball with a rolling pin into a 0.5 cm thin circle.
Heat a pan on medium heat. Put in the pita bread and turn after 10 seconds.
Turn the pita bread again after 10 seconds. Keep turning every 10 seconds until it puffs up. This process should take about 3-4 minutes.
Place the baked pita breads on a plate and cover with a kitchen towel until serving so that they do not become hard.
To fill the pita bread, simply cut it in half.
