Valentine’s day roses to eat
We don’t know about you, but we love getting roses as gifts. Especially roses, which you can also eat. Because love is known to go through the stomach. That’s why we have these sweet salted caramel apple roses on Valentine’s Day – or whenever you feel like it. They consist of just a few ingredients and are low in sugar.
preparation
-
For the bottom, chop up the protein cookie with a food processor or blender so that it is crumbly.
-
Add cinnamon and coconut oil. Mix again briefly until a sticky mixture is formed.
-
Spread the cookie mixture over 4 muffin tins so that the base is completely covered. Press flat with your fingers.
-
Melt the Protein Cream for 30 seconds in the microwave or over a water bath.
-
Put a small dollop (about 1/2 teaspoon) of Protein Cream on each cookie base. Set aside the muffin tins and the remaining Protein Cream.
-
Halve the apples lengthways. Cut out the core casing. Then cut widthways into wafer-thin slices.
-
Place the apples on a plate and drizzle with lemon juice. Heat in the microwave for 45 seconds. Alternatively simmer for 2-3 minutes in a saucepan with a little water until the slices are soft.
-
For the apple roses, place 10 apple slices horizontally next to each other in a row so that they overlap. The cutting edge points downwards.
-
Starting from the left, roll up the apples until you have a small rose. Press into the muffin tins.
-
Bake apple roses in the oven for 25 minutes at 180 degrees.
-
Let cool down briefly and lift out of the mold. Heat the rest of the Protein Cream again and pour it onto the apple roses.
